My faithful fucklings, I wanted to let you know that I’m doing a LIVE VIDEO CHAT on Thursday evening and YOU are cordially invited to send your questions in advance!
WHEN: Thursday, March 6th
WHAT TIME: 5pm PT / 8pm ET
WHERE: David Javerbaum’s Substack page
I’ll be appearing with a pal from my book publishing days, DAVID JAVERBAUM, to talk all things comedy, books, musicals, TV and lyric writing, job-quitting, tropical living, and whatever else you’re interested in watching us flap our gums about.
“DJ,” as he is known, is a fuckton-of-Emmy-Awards-winning writer whose work you’ve undoubtedly giggled at whilst watching The Daily Show or The Colbert Report, or if you ever followed him on Twitter where, as @TheTweetOfGod, he amassed 6.2 million tweeps merely by being fucking hilarious at all times. He even co-wrote God’s memoir back in 2011, when I was their humble human editor at Simon & Schuster.
The book was made into a hit Broadway show (also written by DJ) starring This Guy:
ANYWAY…DJ has a new thang on Substack called “Droll Call.”
And he invited me on to talk funnily for an hour—so your questions (for either of us, tbh) would be both welcome and structurally helpful.
Post your Q’s in the comments before showtime—and we hope to see you there!
PS: If you can’t watch the live feed, you should still feel free to send us a question; the full video will be available at a later date.
I’d be curious to know if humor comes to him naturally or if it’s something he’s had to learn how to hone.
What makes you think you're so funny? No, really, what makes you think you're so funny? When you think it, then write it without the benefit of immediate reader or audience response, how do you know it's funny?
