I feel safe admitting here that I have not yet read The Da Vinci Code -- my defence is far less solid than yours, as my only excuse was starting college that year. I have acquired a Kindle (for my 40th birthday) for reading without guilt (attention is currency, and the bank is running low), and shall add the novel to the list. It's never too late for a good book. Thanks for the coffee maker recommendation! We go through a Cuisinart maker every 2.5 years. Donation made & love sent to the school!!
College is a great excuse for missing out on the DaVinci Code - I don't think I could have added any pleasure reading to my life on top of all the classwork back then either! I hope you enjoy it whenever you do get around to it - and thank you SO MUCH, on behalf of the Dominican Joe School. Every little bit helps!!!
I’m so sorry to hear about the school fire. That’s horrible. On another note, I wanted to tell you that when I was walking my dog the other day, I happened to glance inside a car parked on my street. On a shelf between the glove compartment and dashboard sat a copy of “Calm the Fuck Down.” I almost took a pic for you but realized that anyone witnessing that from inside their house would be aghast, word would get out, and I’d have to move. So just take my word for it.
Sarah, I'd love to contribute to Dominican Joe Kids. In the past, when I've done what I've wanted to be a one-time donation, I get follow-up mail for years, the cost of which must eat up the donation I made! Can I give without being contacted again directly from them for another donation?
That’s very kind of you Lloyd. The PayPal donation link is probably less likely to result in you being added to any email lists. The other program is their official fundraising tool and those tend to have automations attached that email previous contributors periodically. I know that gets annoying!
I went to the site and it worked out great. I didn't need to include my mailing address so no nuisance and costly mailings coming my way. Emails I don't mind since I can always unsubscribe. Have a great day!
It was so *visceral* - just absolutely unflinching. Gah. And without spoiling it for anyone else, the way a certain character arc played out in the literal final pages?? Masterful.

Amazing! And good thinking—I wouldn’t want you to run afoul of the Neighborhood Watch on my account.
